Does eczema ever go away?

My daughter is 5 and has had eczema since she was a baby. I keep hoping she'll outgrow it, but it's still there. Does eczema ever truly go away, or is it something she'll have to manage her whole life?

It doesn't completely disappear forever, but you can definitely manage it so well that it feels gone. The trick is to identify your triggers, like certain soaps or dry weather, and keep your skin moisturized 24/7. I haven't had a major flare-up in three years now.

Many people find that their skin improves dramatically when they cut out inflammatory foods. For me, reducing dairy and eating simple, home-cooked satvik food helped calm my skin. Of course, please consult your doctor before making major diet changes.

Eczema is like that annoying relative who visits without asking, but eventually leaves if you ignore them enough. Just keep slathering on the moisturizer and don't scratch like a monkey, it will subside!

I just got over a terrible six-month flare-up on my hands. While doctors say there is no permanent cure, my skin is completely clear right now. It is all about finding the right cream and managing your daily stress.

Please be very careful and do not ignore it. My mild eczema once got a severe bacterial infection because I scratched it with dirty hands, and I had to be on heavy antibiotics. Go to a proper dermatologist and get it treated safely.
