Does eating then going to sleep cause weight gain?

Sometimes I eat dinner late, around 9:30 or 10 PM, and then head straight to bed. My friends say this habit will definitely make me gain weight. Is it true that eating just before sleeping causes weight gain?

Yaar, actually it is all about your total daily calories. But sleeping right after heavy dinner causes bad acidity and bloating, which makes you feel heavy in the morning. Better to keep at least a 2 hour gap so digestion happens properly.

Haan na, I also used to do this and my weight went up so fast. Actually, late night digestion is very slow, hence the bloated feeling. Now I try to finish my dinner by 8 PM maximum and feel much lighter.

My doctor told me that eating late itself doesn't magically turn food into fat, but our metabolism does slow down thoda bit at night. Plus, late-night meals are usually high-calorie junk because of cravings. He suggested eating light if I have to sleep soon.

It definitely makes you feel like a balloon the next day! 🎈 It's mostly about calorie surplus, but a small light walk after dinner helps a lot. Try to keep dinner light and enjoy your sleep! 😊

Don't believe everything people say on Reels and YouTube about fat gain. Everyone's metabolism works differently. If you have constant weight issues, it is always better to consult a certified nutritionist or doctor instead of trying random internet tips.
