Does eating sugar give you diabetes?

My friends and I often joke about how much sugar we consume, from soft drinks to desserts. But lately, I've been genuinely worried about my health. If you eat a lot of sugar, does it automatically mean you'll get diabetes?

Eating sugar directly does not cause diabetes, but it places a heavy load on your pancreas over time. I suggest replacing refined white sugar with organic jaggery or honey in moderation. If you have symptoms like frequent urination, please consult a doctor immediately.

I know how stressful it is to feel guilty every time you eat a piece of sweet, constantly worrying about diabetes. I went through the same anxiety. Just know that diabetes is complex and involves genetics and stress, so please don't be too hard on yourself.

In our old days, we ate plenty of sweets during festivals but worked hard in the fields to burn it off. Today, people sit in offices and eat sugary things all day. Keep your body active, drink warm water after meals, and always consult a doctor if you feel unwell.

If sugar directly caused diabetes, half of India would have it by age ten, haha! It's actually about your overall lifestyle and genetics. Enjoy your sweets, just don't eat the whole box of kaju katli in one go.

Honestly, I used to drink three cans of cola daily and got super scared about diabetes. My doctor told me sugar itself doesn't cause it, but the weight gain from it increases the risk. I cut down on sodas and feel much better now.

Sweets are a part of our culture, so we cannot stop completely. But we must eat them in limits. Diabetes comes from a lazy routine, not just from sugar. Walk daily and keep your mind happy.

It is a myth that sugar is the sole cause. If you maintain a good muscle mass and go for a 30-minute brisk walk daily, your body manages glucose much better. Keep exercising regularly, provided your doctor allows it.

Haan yaar, logon ko lagta hai cheeni khate hi diabetes ho jayegi, par aisa nahi hai na. It is actually our bad lifestyle and stress that does the damage. Thoda mitha khao par sath me physical activity bhi zaroori hai.

Bro, chill. Diabetes is mostly about genetics and lack of activity, not just eating sweets. Just don't survive on energy drinks and junk food daily, and you will be completely fine.

As a nurse, I often explain that type 2 diabetes is about insulin resistance, which is linked to overall weight and genetics, not just sugar intake. However, limiting refined sugar is still highly recommended to protect your pancreas. Always get regular blood tests done.
