Does eating fruit cause weight gain?

I'm trying to lose weight and have replaced a lot of my unhealthy snacks with fruits. But my friend said fruits also contain sugar and can make you gain weight. Does eating fruit cause weight gain?

I used to count calories of even grapes and felt so miserable. Please remember that fruits are full of water and fiber, they are not your enemy in weight loss.

No yaar, fruits don't make you fat. Actually, it's way better than eating biscuits or chips when you get those midday cravings.

In our times, we ate plenty of seasonal fruits like mangoes and jackfruit and never gained weight. The key is physical activity and staying active throughout the day.

Chill, don't stress too much! Fruits are super healthy. Just eat them whole instead of drinking juices, which lose all the good fiber.
