Does dvt pain go away when sitting?

My mother recently had a DVT scare, and she gets some leg pain which she says feels better when she stands or walks. But when she sits for a while, it comes back. Does DVT pain go away when sitting, or is it more complex than that?

My health app logs show that DVT pain actually tends to get worse or feel more heavy and throbbing when sitting for long periods, especially during flights or desk jobs. It is not like muscle strain that gets better with rest. Please monitor your calf swelling and consult a doctor immediately if the pain persists.

Since women with hormonal issues like PCOS can have a slightly higher risk of clotting, I always stay very cautious about leg pain. DVT pain usually doesn't simply go away when sitting; in fact, inactivity can make the swelling and tightness worse. Please get a professional medical opinion to be safe.

Between long sitting hours at my desk, I realized that if leg pain is due to DVT, sitting down actually worsens the pooling of blood and increases discomfort. Do not try to sit it out or ignore it to save time. Book an appointment for a Doppler ultrasound immediately.

I was just reading about this on a medical blog because my uncle had a leg clot. The article clearly said that DVT pain and swelling often persist or even worsen when sitting down because of poor blood flow. It is definitely not something that improves with simple rest.

I have been experiencing a strange heaviness in my left leg for two days, and it feels a bit warm when I sit. Is this how DVT pain usually starts? I am a bit scared to go to the hospital alone.

When my mother had calf pain, the doctors at Fortis clearly explained that DVT pain does not vanish when you sit down; the deep throbbing and warmth remain. You must ask a vascular specialist clearly and get a scan done. Don't waste time on self-diagnosis.

As someone managing diabetes, I know how critical vascular health is. DVT pain is a serious medical emergency and sitting down will not relieve the clot pain, it might actually make it feel more swollen. Please seek immediate medical help instead of trying to rest it out.

When I had a clot in my calf, the pain actually became more intense and throbbing when I sat still on my office chair. I only found relief after my doctor started me on blood thinners. Based on my experience, sitting definitely doesn't make the pain go away.
