Does dry shampoo help with dandruff?

I've been dealing with mild dandruff for a while, and my sister suggested trying dry shampoo. She claims it can absorb excess oil and help with the flakes. Does dry shampoo genuinely help with dandruff symptoms, or is it not recommended?

I have been reading online about quick fixes for greasy hair and dandruff. Does dry shampoo actually treat the root cause of dandruff, or does it just absorb the oil so the flakes are temporarily hidden? I am trying to figure out if I should buy one.

Using dry shampoo on a dandruff-prone scalp can lead to severe seborrheic dermatitis. The powder clogs the hair follicles and traps the yeast, leading to painful bumps. Please consult a dermatologist for a proper medicated lotion instead of using these sprays.

Dry shampoo is like putting a fancy garnish on a dish that didn't cook well! It just hides the oil for a bit, but it won't cure your dandruff at all. In fact, it might make your scalp feel even more itchy and irritated.

Nope, it doesn't help at all! Dry shampoo actually makes dandruff worse by building up on your scalp. You definitely need a real wash with a good anti-dandruff shampoo to get rid of those flakes!

I used to feel so embarrassed by my dandruff during meetings and tried dry shampoo to quickly cover it up. It made my scalp so itchy and inflamed that I felt even worse. It is really frustrating, but please stick to actual medicated treatments instead of quick cosmetic fixes.

Bro, dry shampoo is the worst thing for dandruff. I tried it once before a party to hide the flakes, and the next day my scalp was burning with itchiness. Just use a proper ketoconazole shampoo, it actually works.

No, it doesn't help. It actually clogs follicles and worsens dandruff, so please avoid it if you have a flaky scalp.
