Does dry shampoo get rid of dandruff?

I sometimes get a bit of dandruff, and a friend told me that using dry shampoo might help manage it between washes. Does dry shampoo actually get rid of dandruff, or does it just mask it for a bit?

I was wondering about this because my scalp gets so oily and flaky. Does dry shampoo actually clean the dandruff, or does it just powder it over so it's not visible for a few hours? I'm trying to find a quick fix.

Absolutely not. Dry shampoo only masks the oil and can actually make dandruff worse by clogging your pores and trapping the fungus. Do not trust these social media hacks; go see a dermatologist for a proper anti-fungal treatment.

No way, yaar! Actually, dry shampoo just sits on your scalp and makes the flaking worse after some time. It doesn't wash away anything. You need a proper anti-dandruff shampoo with water to clean it out.

No, dry shampoo doesn't treat dandruff. I use a scalp analyzer app and noticed my scalp health score dropped significantly when I used dry shampoo because of the buildup. Use a ketoconazole-based shampoo if you have actual fungal dandruff.

My college-going daughter tried using dry shampoo to hide her dandruff because she was in a rush. It ended up causing severe itching and more flakes. I told her to wash her hair properly with curd and neem water instead of these aerosol sprays.

Dry shampoo will only dry out your scalp further, which can worsen itching. Trying a little tea tree oil mixed with coconut oil is a much better natural option. If the dandruff is very thick and itchy, please consult a skin specialist.

Dry shampoo is just a waste of money if you are trying to treat dandruff. A simple medicated shampoo from the local pharmacy costs much less and actually cures the issue. Plan your budget around real treatments, not expensive cosmetic sprays.
