Does drinking warm milk help you sleep?

My mother always tells me to drink a glass of warm milk before bed if I'm having trouble sleeping. I've been a bit restless lately. Is there any scientific evidence that warm milk helps you fall asleep faster or better?

Warm milk is quite relaxing for the mind before sleeping. As someone with high BP, I find a calm bedtime routine helps lower my evening stress. Just make sure to get regular health checkups if your sleep issues are causing high blood pressure.

Haan bhai, garam doodh peene se neend toh badhiya aati hai na. Hamare ghar mein toh bachpan se haldi daal ke doodh dete hain sone se pehle. Ek baar dhyan se pi ke dekho, dimaag ko kafi sukoon milta hai.

At 48, my body doesn't even let me sleep if I drink milk too late because of gas! But jokes aside, a warm cup does make you feel cozy. Just don't add too much sugar otherwise you'll be wide awake with a sugar rush.

I love adding a pinch of cardamom and saffron to my warm milk at night. It feels like a delicious dessert cup and totally hits the spot, making me feel sleepy and satisfied immediately.

Warm milk is a very simple and cheap home remedy for restless nights. You don't need any expensive sleeping tablets or fancy teas. Just a plain warm cup of milk 30 minutes before bed works wonders for most people.

Drinking warm milk is an excellent ayurvedic practice for calming the Vata dosha at night. If you are vegan or lactose intolerant, you can try warm almond milk with nutmeg instead. It has a similar soothing effect on the nervous system.
