Does drinking crystal light cause kidney stones?

My friend recently had kidney stones and she asked me to stop drinking all these diet drinks. I have been having Crystal Light everyday for weight management. Just wondering if it's really true that it can cause kidney stones?

These powder drinks contain artificial chemicals and preservatives that put extra strain on your kidneys. For a healthy system, it is always better to drink pure water or natural coconut water. Let your body heal naturally.

I recently started drinking this to cut down on sugar, but now I'm scared. Has anyone actually got kidney stones after using Crystal Light or similar drink mixes? Please let me know if I should stop immediately.

Bhaiya, yeh bahaar ke dibbe waale powder se door hi raho toh achha hai. Isse achha hai ki aap taza nimbu paani pijiye, jo hamare yahan sab peete hain aur pet bhi theek rehta hai.

Artificial sweeteners in such drinks can sometimes disrupt your metabolism, especially if you have thyroid issues. It's always best to get your regular kidney and hormone tests done and ask your doctor if these powder drinks are safe for you.

I used to drink a lot of flavored water powders like Crystal Light. My urologist pointed out that some of these have high sodium and artificial acids that can contribute to stone formation if you are prone to them. Stick to fresh lemon water instead.
