Does diabetes skip a generation?

My grandfather had diabetes, but my father didn't get it. Now I'm wondering if I'm still at risk because of my grandfather. Does diabetes skip a generation in families?

My grandfather had it, my father completely escaped it by eating whatever he wanted, and here I am looking at a sweet and getting high sugar. Genetics has a weird sense of humor, let me tell you!

Honestly yaaar, don't stress too much about genetics. Even if your grandparents had it, it doesn't mean you are definitely going to get it. Just live a healthy life and eat mindfully, you'll be absolutely fine!

Man, with my 4 hours of sleep and crazy work life, I am more worried about my daily lifestyle than what my ancestors passed down. But seriously, it can skip generations, science is unpredictable that way.

In my family, my dad doesn't have it but my dada ji had it, and now my doctor told me I am prediabetic. So yeah, it kind of skipped a generation in my house. But I'm hitting the gym now to control it early.

Listen, genetics is only one part of the story. Even if it skipped your parents, you can easily protect yourself by keeping a tab on your weight and stress levels. Don't worry, just take care of your health today.

It can skip generations, but since I have PCOS, I am always extra careful because insulin resistance is so real. I'd say don't take risks based on family patterns, just get regular annual blood tests done to be safe.
