Does diabetes shorten your life?

My father was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and our family doctor mentioned lifestyle changes are important. I overheard someone say that diabetes shortens your life span. Is this really true, or can it be managed well to live a full life?

Not at all, as long as you keep your sugar levels in check it doesn't affect your lifespan.

Please don't stress yourself thinking about this too much. My uncle has had diabetes for over thirty years and he is doing perfectly fine. Just take regular care and keep a calm mind, everything will be alright.

Honestly, it's all about lifestyle management. If you are regular with your workouts, control simple carbs, and keep your sweet cravings in check, you can live a very long and healthy life. Don't worry, just focus on keeping your body active every day.

Look boss, simple baat hai. If you ignore it and eat whatever you want, it will create trouble for your organs. But if you take your meds on time and walk daily, you will live a long life like anyone else. Choice is completely yours.

My dad has had diabetes since I was a kid and honestly he is fitter than me. He just goes for his daily walks and controls his diet, so don't let those scary internet articles freak you out.
