Does diabetes qualify for disability?

My Type 1 diabetes is quite severe and sometimes makes it hard to hold a regular job because of frequent complications. I wanted to know if diabetes qualifies for disability benefits or status here in India?

Generally, standard diabetes doesn't qualify for disability in India unless there are severe complications like blindness or amputation. Focus on daily walking and strength training to keep complications away.

Nope, simple diabetes isn't counted as a disability! You can live a perfectly normal, active life with the right diet and positive attitude.

No, it is not considered a disability. Take care of your health with proper bitter gourd juice and daily walking, but if you have severe nerve damage or vision loss, please see a specialist immediately.

Hey, don't stress too much! Diabetes is very manageable and doesn't limit your potential at all. Most people live very successful, normal lives without needing any disability support.

I am new to this and still learning. Does anyone know if there are any special insurance benefits or government schemes for people managing Type 1 diabetes from a young age?

No, it typically doesn't qualify as a disability. Regular checkups and keeping both blood pressure and glucose in range will prevent the severe complications that actually lead to disability.
