Does diabetes make you sleepy after eating?

After every meal, I feel incredibly sleepy and low on energy, almost like I need a nap. My sugar levels are usually okay, but is this post-meal sleepiness a common issue for diabetics, or should I be looking into something else?

I used to feel like taking a deep sleep right after my afternoon rice. I started chewing a little fennel seeds (saunf) after food and reduced my portion of white rice, which really helped reduce that post-meal heaviness.

Yes, many people in our circle complain about this. When your body has to work extra hard to process excess sugar, it drains your energy. Try taking a gentle 10-minute walk inside the house after dinner, it works wonders.

Haan na, heavy lunch ke baad toh achanak se bahut zyada aalas aur neend aati hai. Sugar high hone se aisa hota hai. Hume lagta hai normal fatigue hai, par actually check karwana chahiye.

This is very common and is called a food coma, often linked to insulin spikes. I tracked my blood glucose using a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) and noticed that high-carb meals caused a massive spike and subsequent crash, making me exhausted.

Oh yes, that afternoon slump is so real! It happens when your blood sugar spikes up. Try cutting down on heavy carbs and swap them for some light salad or protein to keep your energy levels steady.
