Does diabetes cause the top of your feet to itch?

My sugar levels are a bit borderline, and I'm keeping an eye on them. For some reason, the top of my feet have become really itchy and sometimes tingly. Could this sensation be linked to diabetes?

Yes, it absolutely can. High sugar levels affect your blood circulation and dry out the skin, which makes your feet itch like crazy. Stop scratching it raw and go get your HbA1c checked first.

Oh God, don't even ask! Sometimes my feet itch so much I feel like using a coconut scraper on them. My doctor told me it is because of nerve irritation from sugar spikes. I just slather on heavy moisturizer now and pray.

Haha, yes! I used to think some mosquito has a personal grudge against my feet. Turns out it was just my sugar levels acting up. Keep them clean and dry, and maybe don't eat that extra jalebi tonight!

Actually, yes, poor blood flow can cause localized itching, especially on the feet. I track my daily water intake and sugar trends on my health app, and I notice the itching flares up when my hydration is low and sugar is high. Try logging your symptoms to see if there is a pattern.

I face something similar with my thyroid issues, dry skin is a major culprit. With diabetes, itching in the extremities can also mean poor circulation or nerve issues. You really need to get a proper blood test done and show a doctor.
