Does diabetes affect vision?

Sometimes my vision seems a bit blurry, especially after reading. I have diabetes, so I'm wondering if this is a known effect. Does diabetes affect your vision?

Don't fall for people telling you that putting rose water or doing some eye exercises will fix this. Diabetes damages the blood vessels in your retina. Only a qualified ophthalmologist can properly check and treat this.

Beta, high sugar weakens the delicate nerves of the eyes. Along with taking your daily doctor medicines, try eating a spoonful of fennel seeds with almonds and mishri daily, it is very good for general eye health.

Yes, my dad's vision got really blurry when his sugar shot up to 300. We got so scared, but once his sugar came back to normal, his vision cleared up. It is very important to keep your levels stable daily.

Yes, it does. Just like my thyroid issues require constant monitoring, you must get your HbA1c and eye pressure checked regularly. Regular follow-ups with your eye doctor are the best way to prevent permanent vision damage.

Haan na, sugar badhne se aankhon par bahot load padta hai. My neighbor had to get laser treatment because of high sugar neglect. It is always better to get your eye checkup done every year, risk nahi lene ka.

Yes, high glucose levels draw fluid from your eye lenses, which makes it hard to focus. This is a classic symptom of fluctuating diabetes. Keep your blood sugar within target ranges and get your retina checked once a year.

For mild dryness, washing eyes with cold water helps, but diabetes-related vision changes are serious. If you notice sudden blurry vision or black spots, please don't rely on home tips and go see an eye specialist immediately.
