Does diabetes affect eyesight?

My mother, who has diabetes, complains about her eyesight getting worse. Is it common for diabetes to affect a person's eyesight over time?

Yes, it does, and retinal scans can be expensive if you go to high-end clinics. I suggest checking government hospitals or charitable trust clinics where you can get a dilated eye exam done at a very nominal rate.

Actually yes yaar, high sugar causes diabetic retinopathy which can really mess up your vision. My uncle got blurry vision suddenly and had to get laser treatment. Don't take it lightly.

My grandfather has type 2 and he has to get his eyes checked every six months. If your sugar levels keep fluctuating, your vision can get quite blurry. It is better to get it checked by an eye specialist.

I was reading about this online and found out that high glucose levels swell up the lens in the eye, which causes temporary blurriness. It is crazy how much sugar can affect our eyes without us realizing.

I completely understand how terrifying it feels to worry about your eyesight. Yes, diabetes can affect your eyes, but staying anxious won't help. Just book a quick appointment with an ophthalmologist to get peace of mind.

Yes, high sugar is very bad for the eyes. While you must show a doctor, you can also wash your eyes with clean cold water daily and eat amla to support your overall eye health naturally.

Yes, it absolutely does. Uncontrolled diabetes is one of the leading causes of vision issues, so yearly eye exams are a must.
