Does diabetes affect blood pressure?

My husband has had diabetes for years, and now his blood pressure has also started fluctuating a lot. Are diabetes and high blood pressure linked somehow?

Yes, they are quite connected but please don't worry too much. Taking care of your daily meals and keeping stress low helps a lot. It is manageable with small everyday habits.

They are like those annoying cousins who always show up together at a wedding. If sugar goes up, blood pressure also tries to jump. Keep an eye on both, otherwise they will plan a conspiracy against your favorite sweets!

Actually yes, my doctor told me high sugar can affect your blood vessels and raise BP. Just like my thyroid, these things need regular tracking. Better to get both checked every few months and show the reports to your doctor.

I was reading about this yesterday and got so worried. My dad's sugar is slightly high and his BP has also started fluctuating. Has anyone else noticed this happening suddenly with their parents? It is so stressful to manage.

There is a strong link indeed. But regular physical activity works wonders for both sugar and pressure levels. If your physician permits, start with a brisk 30-minute walk every morning, it makes a huge difference.

My mom's doctor told us that diabetes actually hardens the arteries, which causes high BP. It is pretty common honestly. Just make sure they don't take extra stress because that makes both things worse.

Don't blindly trust WhatsApp forwards saying garlic or some juice will cure both. High BP and diabetes together can be tricky. Go to a proper cardiologist or general physician and get a scientific plan.

Haan bhai, dono ka gahra rishta hai. Sugar badhne se khoon ki naliyon pe zor padta hai toh BP bhi thoda badh jata hai. Aap chinta mat karo, bas samay par khana khao aur thoda ghumne jaya karo.

At 53, my body has become a playground for these two. One day sugar is up, next day pressure is dancing. You just have to laugh it off, take your medicines on time, and accept that life is now all about boiled veggies.

Yes, they usually go hand in hand. Best practical way is to buy a simple digital BP monitor for home use along with your glucometer. Log the readings weekly so you have solid data to show your family doctor.

My husband has had diabetes for ten years now, and his doctor always checks his blood pressure during every visit. We noticed that when his sugar is under control, his BP numbers also stay quite normal. That is just how it has been for him.

My BP shot up to 150 last month because my sugar levels were totally out of whack. After adjusting my dosage and cutting down on salt, both have finally come back to normal range. It is definitely connected, so get both monitored.
