Does dehydration cause fever in adults?

I've been working long hours in the sun and haven't been drinking enough water at all. Now I feel very weak and have a slight fever, almost 100 degrees. Can severe dehydration actually cause a fever in adults, or is it more likely something else entirely?

Yes, dehydration can sometimes cause your body temperature to rise. Please try to drink some ORS water and take rest, hope you feel better.

I was reading up on this because my friend felt very hot after being out in the sun all day. It seems severe dehydration can mess up your body's temperature regulation, making you feel feverish even if it's not a real infection.

At our age, if we forget to drink water for two hours, the body starts complaining with a headache and mild fever. Keep a water bottle next to you like it's your phone!

Dehydration can cause your body temperature to fluctuate and also spikes your blood sugar levels. Drink plenty of plain water or sugar-free lemon water, but go see a doctor if the fever stays high.

Agree with others, severe dehydration definitely raises body heat. Keep sipping coconut water or normal water constantly.
