Does decaf coffee have less acidity?

I love my coffee, but lately it's been giving me a lot of acidity and heartburn, making me uncomfortable. My doctor suggested cutting down on acidic foods and drinks. I'm thinking of switching to decaf coffee, but does it actually have less acidity compared to regular coffee?

I used to get such terrible stomach burning and anxiety from normal coffee, it was honestly so exhausting. Switching to decaf really helped ease that constant discomfort for me, so I highly recommend giving it a try.

The acidity levels are pretty much the same because the pH doesn't change much during decaffeination. I use a food tracker to log my meals, and cold brew decaf seems to be the best option for keeping acidity scores low.

No, decaf coffee is not necessarily less acidic. The decaffeination process only removes caffeine, not the natural acids in the bean. If you want low acidity, you should look for dark roasts or cold brews instead.

Honestly, I drink decaf just for the taste when I'm already too caffeinated but still need a warm mug to hold. It still gives me a bit of reflux if I drink it late at night, so don't expect it to be completely magic.

Please don't just switch to decaf and ignore severe stomach burning. I kept blaming my coffee for months until I found out I had a severe ulcer. If you have constant acidity, go see a doctor first.

Many people find that decaf is much gentler on their stomach. It might be a good idea to try a small cup in the morning and see how your body reacts to it.

Haan na, decaf actually feels much lighter on the stomach compared to regular filter coffee. I stopped getting those chest burns after I made the switch last month.

Decaf is a good option if you want to avoid caffeine spikes affecting your stress hormones. Just make sure you aren't adding lots of sugar or heavy cream to it, as that will hurt your gut and blood sugar levels anyway.
