Does dark chocolate help you sleep?

I've been having trouble falling asleep lately, and I'm trying to avoid taking any medications for it. I read somewhere online that eating dark chocolate before bed can help improve sleep. Is this true, or is it just a myth?

Honestly, eating dark chocolate at night only helps me sleep because it makes me happy, not because of some science! But watch out, it actually has thoda caffeine, so if you eat a whole bar, you might end up staring at the ceiling till 3 AM. Just have one small piece!

A calm mind is the most important thing for a good night's rest, my dear. If a small piece of dark chocolate brings you joy and relaxes your thoughts, then take it as a blessing. Just stay positive, drink some warm water, and sleep peacefully.

Haan yaar, dark chocolate is good, but it has caffeine also na. So if you are very sensitive to tea or coffee, it might actually keep you awake instead of putting you to sleep. Try having it thoda early in the evening rather than right before bed.

My son used to stay up late studying and started eating dark chocolate thinking it would help him relax and sleep. We realized the cocoa was actually keeping him active because of the natural stimulants. We replaced it with a cup of warm turmeric milk, which is much more practical for sleep.

As someone who hasn't slept properly since 2018, I can tell you that dark chocolate did absolutely nothing for my insomnia! In fact, the sugar and caffeine just kept my brain running. Better to turn off your phone screen, that actually works.
