Does dandruff smell?

I've noticed a lot of flakes and itchiness lately, which I think is dandruff. My biggest worry is if dandruff has a bad smell that others can detect, especially if I'm close to someone. I'm feeling really self-conscious about it.

Yes puttar, it can sometimes have a sour, musty smell if the scalp remains oily for too long. I have seen this happen to many youngsters who don't wash their hair regularly. Just keep your scalp clean, and the odor will easily go away, don't worry.

It definitely can, especially after a heavy workout session when sweat mixes with the scalp yeast. I make sure to wash my hair with clean water right after my gym sessions and keep my diet clean. Cutting down on extra sugar and processed food really helps control that scalp buildup.

Sometimes when there is too much oil on the scalp, it can cause a mild odor. Just stay positive, wash your hair with a peaceful mind, and take care of your daily hygiene. Small things like this shouldn't disturb your inner peace.

Yes, severe dandruff is caused by a yeast-like fungus that feeds on sebum, and that yeast can release a musty smell when it multiplies. It's a very common practical issue, so don't feel embarrassed. Using a tea tree oil shampoo or a zinc-based wash twice a week will solve it quickly.

In my experience, high sugar levels can feed the scalp fungus, making the dandruff and its yeast-like smell worse. I always advise keeping a close eye on your daily sugar intake and getting your HbA1c checked if you face persistent skin issues. Proper diet control helps a lot.

Oh, tell me about it! My head used to smell like fermenting yeast if I skipped washing it for two days. At this age, managing body odors is a full-time job. Just wash your hair regularly and save yourself the embarrassment, trust me.
