Does dandruff shampoo work?

Been having a lot of dandruff lately, it's quite embarrassing and itchy. My wife suggested I try a proper dandruff shampoo, but I'm a bit skeptical about these things. Do these shampoos actually work for real, or is it just a temporary fix?

Yes, they definitely work, but you have to use them correctly. Medicated ones with active ingredients like ketoconazole or selenium sulfide need to sit on your scalp for 5 minutes before rinsing. If you wash it off immediately like normal shampoo, it won't do much.

They do work, but only if you choose the right active ingredient for your specific type of dandruff. Since some dandruff is fungal and some is just dry skin, a dermatologist's advice is best to identify which shampoo will actually suit your scalp.

They work, but don't expect magic overnight. You have to be consistent for at least three to four weeks. If you stop using it the moment itching reduces, the dandruff will just come right back.

I was so worried that none of the shampoos would work and my hair would keep falling out. But after trying three different brands, I finally found one that suited me. Don't worry if the first one you try doesn't work, sometimes it takes some trial and error.

They do work to cleanse the physical body, yes. Just keep a positive mindset while treating your scalp, and don't let the stress of dandruff trouble your mind. Take care of your health, eat simple foods, and all will be well.

They work for temporary relief, but if your dandruff is linked to hormonal imbalances like PCOS, it might keep coming back. I found that balancing my lifestyle along with using the shampoo gave me much better, long-term results.

They work if you are using the correct medical strength. I wasted months on cosmetic brands before visiting a good dermatologist at a reputed hospital. Please ask your doctor clearly to prescribe a proper therapeutic shampoo for quick results.

I have been using a dandruff shampoo for two weeks now and the flakes are still there, which is making me really anxious. Did it take longer than two weeks for others to see a difference, or is my shampoo just not working?

Haan na, they work but sometimes they make your hair dry like rassi. I always use a deep conditioner only on the ends after washing. Otherwise dandruff toh chala jayega but hair will become very rough.

They work, but some of those medicated ones are quite expensive for small bottles. A practical plan is to use the medicated shampoo just twice a week, and use a cheaper, mild shampoo for regular washes to keep your monthly budget under control.
