Does dandruff shampoo help acne?

My friend told me that some people use dandruff shampoo to help with their acne, especially on their back or chest where it can get oily. I have some stubborn body acne. Is there any truth to this, does dandruff shampoo actually help clear up acne in certain areas?

It can help if the acne is actually fungal, which sometimes happens near the hairline. But for hormonal acne related to conditions like PCOS, dandruff shampoo won't make a difference and might just irritate your skin. It is safer to check with a doctor before experimenting on your face.

Honestly, I barely have energy to wash my face at 2 AM, let alone experiment with shampoo on my pimples! I tried it once because of some internet hack and it just made my eyes burn and my skin dry like a desert. Better to just stick to basic face wash and get some sleep.

I heard this works for fungal pimples, but honestly, my acne usually flares up when I eat too much cheesy pizza and spicy chaat anyway! Instead of putting shampoo on my face, I just try to cut down on oily food and drink lots of water. It feels much safer and tastes better too!

I used to panic every time I got breakouts near my forehead, thinking it was some permanent skin infection. Then my doctor explained it was just a reaction to scalp oil and suggested washing my hair with anti-dandruff shampoo. Once my scalp cleared up, the face pimples naturally disappeared, so don't worry too much.

Hey, don't stress too much about those breakouts! Dandruff shampoo only helps if it is fungal acne, not regular hormonal pimples. Just wash your hair regularly to keep the oil away from your face, and let your skin breathe. You're beautiful anyway, so just relax!

I just went through this last month! I had stubborn bumps on my forehead and cheeks, and my dermatologist told me to use a zinc pyrithione shampoo as a wash. I applied it for just one minute daily, and my skin cleared up completely. It really works if it's the fungal kind.
