Does dandruff make your head itch?

My head has been itching constantly, and I've also noticed a lot of flakes, so I strongly suspect it's dandruff. Is it typical for dandruff to cause such an itchy head? I'm trying to figure out if it's definitely dandruff or something else entirely causing this discomfort.

I have dealt with this for decades. Yes, dandruff always causes itching, but don't worry, a simple regular hair wash keeps it under control.

Yes, and sweat makes the itching much worse. Always make sure to dry your hair properly after your daily run or gym session.

Obviously it will itch, what else do you expect from dry dead skin on your scalp? Just wash your hair properly and don't let dirt accumulate.

Yes, it really does. Using a mild anti-dandruff shampoo twice a week solved the itching for me.

Yes, the fungal overgrowth irritates the scalp. You can track your scalp condition with a habit helper app to ensure regular washing.

Yes, it is so annoying! I find that avoiding heavy hair oils when my scalp is itching really helps reduce the irritation.

It does cause itching. Just like managing high BP, maintaining scalp hygiene requires a regular routine and doctor-approved shampoos if it gets severe.
