Does crohn's disease cause back pain?

I've been diagnosed with Crohn's disease, and recently, I've started having persistent lower back pain. I'm wondering if this pain is related to my Crohn's. Does Crohn's disease cause back pain?

I totally get it, dealing with Crohn's is already so tough and now adding back pain to it is just unfair. It is actually quite common because inflammation in the gut can sometimes affect the joints and lower back. Please be gentle with yourself today.

When my gut is inflamed, my whole body feels sore, including my back. I find that avoiding highly spiced food and eating light, home-cooked khichdi helps reduce general inflammation. But definitely check with your nutritionist or doctor before changing your diet plan.

My gastroenterologist explained that Crohn's is an autoimmune condition, and up to 25% of patients experience extraintestinal symptoms like arthritis or sacroiliitis, which causes lower back pain. If you are experiencing this, it might indicate active inflammation that needs a treatment review.

I won't give any medical gyaan, but I have Crohn's and whenever I have a bad flare-up, my lower back hurts like crazy. For me, heat pads and resting help temporarily. But what works for me might not work for you, so do ask your specialist.

Actually, Crohn's can cause back pain, yaar. I thought it was just my bad posture from work, but my doc said the gut inflammation can spread to the spine joints. Don't ignore it, get it checked by your gastro.

I ignored my persistent lower back pain for months thinking it was just age-related muscle strain, which was a huge mistake because it was a flare-up of my gut condition. Please don't repeat my mistake. Go get an inflammation marker test or see your doctor immediately.

Yeah, it absolutely does. I have Crohn's and my back pain gets really bad when my stomach is upset. It is apparently related to joint inflammation called enteropathic arthritis. Get your doctor to adjust your meds, that's the only real fix.
