Does creatine cause liver problems?

My gym trainer recommended creatine to me, but my sister, who is very health-conscious, said to be careful as supplements can damage the liver. Does creatine cause liver problems? I want to make sure I'm taking something safe.

Honestly bro, if your liver is already healthy and you drink enough water, creatine is quite safe. I've been taking 3-5 grams daily for three years and my blood reports are perfectly normal. Just don't overdo the dosage and keep your hydration in check.

I totally panicked last year when my blood test showed slightly high levels and I thought it was liver damage. But my doctor explained it was just temporary and completely normal when you work out hard and take creatine. Once I drank more water and retested, everything was absolutely fine.

Since we vegetarians don't get much creatine from our natural diet, supplements do help. But you have to be very careful about the brand quality and your daily intake. Make sure you focus on a clean, balanced diet alongside any supplement you take.

Don't just believe fitness influencers or random online forums about this. Everyone's body reacts differently to supplements. It is always better to get a proper liver function test done and show it to a real doctor before starting.

Don't worry, standard doses usually don't cause any harm to a healthy liver. Just remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day. Take care of your health.
