Does cough variant asthma go away?

My son has been diagnosed with cough variant asthma, and it's been bothering him for a while. As a parent, I'm worried and just want to know if this condition goes away eventually, or is it something he'll have for a long time?

It can be managed very well with the right lifestyle adjustments and proper medication. Just like managing my blood pressure, regular doctor visits and avoiding dusty environments are key to keeping the cough under control so it doesn't disrupt your life.

Please do not ignore a persistent dry cough. I let mine slide thinking it was just a seasonal allergy, and it developed into severe asthma complications that required hospitalization. You must see a pulmonologist for proper inhalers and treatment.

I have been dealing with cough variant asthma for five years now. While it doesn't entirely disappear, it can remain completely quiet for months if you use your prescribed preventer inhaler regularly and use an air purifier at home during high pollution seasons.

It can certainly improve a lot over time. While you must follow your doctor's medical advice, drinking warm ginger-tulsi tea and doing steam inhalation twice a day really helps soothe the airway and reduces the frequent coughing fits.

With chronic conditions, they don't always completely go away, but they can definitely go into remission. Much like managing my thyroid with regular checkups, you need to work closely with your doctor to find your triggers and keep the cough variant asthma under control.
