Does cortisone shot help sciatic pain?

I've been suffering from terrible sciatic pain for many months now, and it's making daily activities very difficult. My physical therapist suggested a cortisone shot; does it actually help with sciatic pain?

Please don't wait and ignore the pain thinking it will go away with just painkillers like I did. I delayed my checkup and my nerve compression got much worse. Go to a proper spine specialist; they will guide you if a cortisone injection is safe and necessary for you.

Haan na, sciatica pain is so terrible, sitting also becomes difficult. My aunt took a cortisone shot last year and she got major relief within two days. But doctor said it is a temporary solution, you have to do regular exercises also, ho na.

Pain is very draining for the mind, so please try to stay calm and positive. The cortisone shot can help soothe the physical pain and give your body the rest it needs to heal. Take your medicines on time, practice quiet meditation, and take care of yourself.

I know how absolutely terrifying sciatic pain is, especially when it shoots down your leg and you feel like you can't walk. The cortisone shot definitely helps reduce that severe inflammation and pain so you can breathe again. It is okay to be scared of the injection, but it really brings peace of mind.

The shot is great to knock down the acute inflammation so you can actually move. But remember, it just masks the pain temporarily. Once the pain is manageable, you need to work on core strengthening and hamstring flexibility to fix the root cause.

While gentle hot fermentation and stretching at home can help with mild back stiffness, severe shooting sciatic pain needs medical attention. A cortisone shot is often needed when the nerve is badly pinched. Please consult an orthopedic specialist to see if you need it.

I had severe sciatica back in my 50s and could barely stand. The doctor gave me a cortisone injection in the spine, and it worked wonders for me, giving me relief for almost a year. Don't worry, technology has improved so much now, just trust your doctor.
