Does cooking spray cause cancer?

My neighbour was saying that certain cooking methods or products can be bad for our health. I use cooking spray quite often; does it actually cause cancer?

Aaj kal toh breathe karne se bhi cancer ka darr lagta hai! Normal levels of cooking spray won't do anything, but the propellants in some cheap cans are a bit questionable. I have gone back to my trustable oil dispenser with a brush—no chemicals, no stress.

I researched this heavily when I was recovering from a health scare last year and cleaning up my kitchen. The spray itself isn't carcinogenic, but heating non-stick sprays to extremely high temperatures can release bad fumes. I switched to using a simple pump bottle with normal mustard oil.

There is no direct evidence that standard cooking sprays cause cancer when used normally. The real issue is the artificial additives and propellants in aerosol cans. Just buy a reusable glass spray bottle and fill it with your regular olive or groundnut oil. It is cheaper and 100% safe.

Don't believe the extreme claims on WhatsApp university about every kitchen item causing cancer. There's no scientific proof for this. Talk to a qualified clinical nutritionist or oncologist if you want real, evidence-backed answers about food safety.

I became very cautious about synthetic chemicals in my food after facing major liver complications. Please avoid aerosol cans that contain butane or propane as propellants. If you have any ongoing health issues, it is always best to discuss your dietary habits with your physician.

I am up at 2 AM eating leftover parathas and now I am reading about cooking spray safety. Honestly, the amount of oil we Indians use in deep frying is a bigger concern than a 1-second spray. Just use normal oil in moderation and get some sleep.
