Does condom cause erectile dysfunction?

Sometimes I have trouble getting or maintaining an erection, and I use condoms regularly. I'm wondering if using condoms can cause erectile dysfunction.

I used to face this exact issue where I would lose my erection the moment I went to put on a condom. I realized it was completely psychological anxiety, not the condom itself. Once I relaxed and got used to the routine, everything became perfectly normal.

Honestly, it is just like when your favorite food delivery gets delayed and you lose your appetite for a second! The brief interruption to wear a condom can break the mood, but it doesn't mean there is any actual physical problem.

I know how embarrassing and deeply frustrating it feels when this happens, and it can really damage your confidence. Please know you are not alone in this, and it is a very common performance anxiety trigger. Try talking openly with your partner to take the pressure off.

Please don't worry, condoms do not cause actual medical erectile dysfunction. It is very common to lose focus or feel anxious during the pause to put one on, which is purely mental. Take your time, stay relaxed, and don't let this stress you out.

I can only share what worked for me—switching to ultra-thin condoms made a huge difference. Sometimes standard ones can reduce sensitivity, which felt like a physical issue, but changing the fit and type solved it completely for me.
