Does colon cancer hurt?

I've been having some stomach discomfort recently, not severe, but it's there. My family has a history of some health issues. Does colon cancer hurt, or is it usually painless until later stages?

It doesn't always hurt in the early stages, which is why people ignore it. If you have any family history or continuous stomach issues, don't wait for pain; get a simple stool test done.

When we visited the gastro specialist at Lilavati, they clearly explained that early tumors rarely cause pain. Ask your doctor for a colonoscopy if you've had persistent bowel changes.

Pain usually manifests in the later stages of this illness when the energy flow is blocked. Listening to your body's subtle early signs is much better than waiting for severe pain.

No, early on there is no pain. While keeping a light diet and drinking warm water keeps your digestion good, it cannot replace a proper hospital checkup if something is wrong.

Honestly, it might not hurt at all at first, which is pretty sneaky of it. Save yourself the midnight Google search panic and just consult a doctor.

In my experience with family members, the pain only started when the blockage became severe. Don't let the absence of pain fool you into delaying your regular checkups.

I ignored minor constipation because there was no pain, and it ended up being a major issue that required surgery. Please don't wait for it to start hurting before seeing a doctor.

Actually, it is often painless in the beginning! 😮 That is why routine checkups are so important to catch anything early.
