Does colloidal oatmeal help eczema?

My little one has very sensitive skin and often gets eczema patches. My pediatrician suggested using colloidal oatmeal for baths. Does colloidal oatmeal really help eczema, and is it safe for kids?

I was looking up home remedies for dry skin flare-ups and kept seeing colloidal oatmeal everywhere. People say it forms a protective layer on the skin. I am going to buy some ground oat powder to try this weekend.

My baby was itching all night and nobody slept. Tried a colloidal oatmeal bath and it actually calmed the skin down enough for us to get three hours of solid sleep. It works, trust my tired eyes.

Yes, it is very helpful for soothing eczema. I use a colloidal oatmeal cream for my daughter right after her bath when the skin is still damp. It really locks in the moisture and reduces the constant scratching.

You don't need to buy expensive imported creams. Just take normal, unflavored oats from the ration shop, grind them very fine in your mixer, and put them in your bucket of bathwater. It is cheap and works very well for skin irritation.

Oh it absolutely works, babe! It is super soothing for that horrible itching. Don't stress too much about finding fancy brands, even standard oatmeal powder mixed in warm bathwater does the trick.
