Does cold weather cause dandruff?

Every year, as soon as winter comes, my scalp becomes very dry and I get a lot of dandruff. Is it possible that cold weather causes dandruff, or is it something else?

Haan babu, thand ke mausam me sardi ki wajah se sir ki twacha sookh jati hai aur rusi ho jati hai. Hum toh thoda sa sarso ka tel halka garm karke lagate hain, usse sir ko bahut thandak aur aaram milta hai.

The dry winter air definitely dries out the scalp, leading to those annoying white flakes. I notice it more when I skip hydration or eat too much sugar during my winter bulking phase. Sweating it out in the gym and drinking 3 liters of water keeps my skin and scalp balanced.

The cold wind steals moisture from your scalp, making dry dandruff highly common in winter. Along with basic hair care, I make sure to include healthy fats like walnuts and flaxseeds in my daily vegetarian diet. It really helps hydrate the skin from the inside out.

Cold dry weather definitely triggers dandruff by drying out the scalp's moisture barrier. My health app suggests tracking indoor humidity levels, as dry room heating makes it worse. Using a mild anti-dandruff shampoo twice a week keeps the flakes away easily.

Since managing my blood sugar requires careful food choices, I've noticed that skin dryness—including scalp dandruff—gets worse in winter if my levels fluctuate. Staying hydrated and avoiding hot water showers helps keep my dry scalp under control without needing harsh chemicals.
