Does clotrimazole treat psoriasis?

Been dealing with psoriasis for years, and it's quite frustrating. I heard someone mention Clotrimazole cream for skin problems, but I usually associate it with fungal infections. Does Clotrimazole actually help in treating psoriasis?

Please be very careful. I once mistook my psoriasis for a fungal infection and kept applying clotrimazole, which did nothing and actually irritated my skin further. Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition, not a fungus, so you need a proper diagnosis and specific prescription creams from a dermatologist.

I was diagnosed with plaque psoriasis last year. Trust me, antifungal creams like clotrimazole won't touch it. I only got relief after my doctor prescribed topical coal tar and mild steroid ointments specifically meant for psoriasis scale reduction.

I was researching skin treatments for my dad and found that clotrimazole is strictly an antifungal medication. Psoriasis is completely different as it is related to rapid skin cell buildup. So theoretically, clotrimazole won't work on psoriasis unless there is a secondary fungal infection on top of it.

No, it won't help. Psoriasis requires proper moisturizing and targeted treatments like salicylic acid or steroid creams. Keep the area well-hydrated with virgin coconut oil and see a skin specialist to get the right treatment plan.

Don't waste your money buying over-the-counter clotrimazole for psoriasis, it is meant for ringworm and athlete's foot. For psoriasis, simple remedies like keeping your skin moist and avoiding harsh soaps can help manage symptoms, but you must get a proper prescription from a government or local clinic.

Psoriasis can be triggered by high stress levels, which also affects your blood pressure. Clotrimazole won't treat it because it's not a fungal issue. I suggest focusing on a healthy lifestyle, managing stress through light exercise, and consulting a doctor for both your skin and general health checkup.
