Does citrate prevent kidney stones?

Suffered from kidney stones before, and it was a very painful experience. My doctor recommended increasing citrate intake, and I wanted to know if citrate is actually effective in preventing kidney stones. I really don't want to go through that again.

Honestly, yes, citrate helps stop stones from forming, but you have to be very careful with how you take it. I have diabetes, so I avoid those sugary lemonades people suggest for citrate. Better to ask your doctor for sugar-free options or proper supplements instead of trying random juices.

Yes, it actually does! Citrate binds with calcium in your urine, which stops stones from building up. I usually keep my hydration high and squeeze fresh lemon juice in my water bottle during workouts. Just a simple habit that works great alongside a clean diet.

My grandmother always used to tell us to drink fresh lime juice without sugar to keep our kidneys clean. But when my husband actually got a stone, our family doctor explained how potassium citrate tablets work much better for prevention. It is always best to listen to your doctor first before relying only on home remedies.

Don't stress too much about this, stones are common but very manageable. Yes, citrate is great for preventing them because it doesn't let the crystals stick together. Just make sure you are drinking plenty of water throughout the day, okay? If you are having severe pain, please go see a doctor immediately.

Citric fruits are wonderful for the body and help prevent these painful accumulations. Along with drinking lemon water in the morning, daily yoga twists and drinking enough water are very helpful. I have seen many people in my yoga classes feel much better just by staying naturally hydrated.
