Does castor oil help liver?

My friend was talking about how good castor oil is for the liver and suggested I try it for general well-being. I'm a bit concerned about my liver health. Does castor oil actually help the liver in any significant way?

I see a lot of discussions here about castor oil packs for liver detox, but there is no scientific backing for this. Consuming castor oil can actually cause heavy loose motions and make you very weak. It is best to stick to fresh, clean food and a healthy lifestyle.

Please be very careful with these extreme remedies. A relative of mine took castor oil regularly believing it would clean his liver, and he ended up in the hospital with severe abdominal inflammation and dehydration. Always consult a proper doctor before trying such things.

Bro, drinking castor oil to help your liver is like setting fire to your house to clean it. It is a crazy strong laxative and you will spend your whole night running to the bathroom instead of sleeping. Just drink some water and leave your poor liver alone!

Haan yaar, ye liver detox waali baatein bas internet par hi acchi lagti hain na. Real life mein toh castor oil pet kharab kar dega aur kuch nahi. Green vegetables khao aur junk food se door raho, wahi liver ke liye sabse best hai.

There are no clinical trials showing castor oil benefits liver function. When I asked my doctor about it, he explained that the liver does its own detoxification automatically. Ingesting castor oil can cause severe electrolyte imbalance, so please avoid it.
