Does cancer make you hungry all the time?

My relative has been eating a lot more than usual lately, almost constantly hungry, but is still losing weight. We're a bit confused by this. Is it possible for certain cancers to make a person feel hungry all the time?

Actually, it is usually the opposite. When my grandfather was sick, he completely lost his appetite and we had to struggle to make him eat even a little bit. If you are feeling hungry all the time, it might be due to a fast metabolism, stress, or something like thyroid, not cancer.

No, cancer typically causes a loss of appetite and unexplained weight loss, which we call cachexia. Increased hunger is more commonly linked to things like diabetes, thyroid issues, or even certain medications like steroids. If this hunger is a new and persistent change for you, it is best to get a routine blood test done.

Normally, serious illnesses reduce a person's desire for food as the body's energy is focused on healing. If your body is asking for food, it is generally a sign of active life force and health. Eat wholesome, blessed food with a calm mind and take care of your spiritual peace.

Usually, serious illnesses make a person refuse food completely. If you are feeling constant hunger, drinking a glass of warm water with fennel seeds or eating fiber-rich foods can help stabilize your digestion. But please, if you feel something is off with your health, do consult a doctor for a proper checkup.
