Does cancer like sugar?

My friend who is undergoing cancer treatment was advised to completely avoid all sweets. She told me it's because cancer cells "love" sugar. Is this a common understanding, and should everyone with cancer follow such a strict sugar-free diet?

All cells in our body use sugar for energy, not just cancer cells. Cutting out refined sugar is great for your fitness, weight, and energy levels anyway, so reducing it is a win-win. Just focus on balanced meals and regular exercise to keep your body in top shape.

My uncle had cancer and we researched this a lot. Actually, the idea that sugar directly feeds cancer is a bit of a myth; all cells need glucose. But eating too much sugar leads to obesity, which is a real risk factor, so it is better to cut down on sweet drinks and junk.

When my family member was undergoing treatment, we tried to drastically cut all carbs, which actually made them very weak and delayed recovery. Please don't make extreme dietary changes based on internet theories. Always consult your oncologist or a certified clinical dietitian to plan meals safely.

Hey! It's a common belief, but science says sugar feeds all our cells, not just the bad ones. Reducing processed sugar is definitely good for staying healthy and energetic though! Eating fresh fruits instead of sweets is a great way to handle cravings. 🍎

Honestly, I can't live without my sweets, so this topic always scares me! But from what I understand, moderate sugar won't directly cause or feed cancer. It is just that overeating sweets makes us put on weight, which isn't great for general health, so moderation is key.

I used to get so anxious reading articles saying sugar is poison and feeds diseases, and I felt guilty every time I ate dessert. But please don't stress; our bodies are complex and a little sugar won't instantly harm you. Talk to a doctor to get the real facts and ease your mind.
