Does c diff cause vomiting?

My cousin recently got C. diff and has been having severe diarrhoea. I was wondering if vomiting is also a common symptom of this infection. Does C. diff typically cause vomiting, or is it mostly gastrointestinal issues?

While C. diff is mainly known for severe watery diarrhea, it can definitely cause nausea and vomiting in some cases. When you are losing so much fluid, it is dangerous for blood pressure. Please go to a hospital and get a proper stool test done.

Yes, vomiting can happen with a severe C. diff infection. My father had to be admitted to Apollo Hospital because he couldn't keep any liquids down. Please do not try to manage this at home with simple antacids, contact your specialist immediately.

I have been having some stomach upset and nausea after taking antibiotics, and I heard about C. diff. Does the vomiting start suddenly, or does it happen only after the diarrhea gets very severe?

When I had C. diff, the nausea was constant and I threw up a couple of times, but the main symptom was definitely the severe abdominal pain and frequent watery stools. It was a very intense infection and required specific prescription antibiotics to clear.

My son had a C. diff infection after a heavy course of antibiotics last year, and he was vomiting along with having terrible stomach cramps. It is very exhausting for the body. Please make sure the patient is getting ORS fluids and see a doctor right away.
