Does bv cause pain during sex?

I've been diagnosed with BV, and while I'm getting treatment, I'm trying to understand all its symptoms. I've noticed some discomfort during intimacy, which is new for me. Does BV typically cause pain during sex, or could something else be causing it?

My partner had this issue a while back and yes, it made intimacy very uncomfortable and painful for her because of the inflammation. She had to pause her workouts too because of the general irritation. Better to treat it completely first.

Yes, it definitely can cause a lot of burning and discomfort during sex. The vaginal lining gets very sensitive when there is an infection. Get it treated quickly and you will be back to normal soon.

Because BV upsets the natural pH balance, the tissues get inflamed and dry, which directly leads to friction and pain during intercourse. I highly recommend completing the full antibiotic course your doctor prescribes before resuming any intimacy.

It really can, and it felt so frustrating and embarrassing for me when it happened. I felt so guilty saying no to my partner because of the burning pain. Please know you are not alone, and getting medical help makes it go away completely.

Actually yes, yaar. The friction makes the burning sensation much worse during sex. It is better to avoid it completely until you finish your medicine course, otherwise it just takes longer to heal.

I just recovered from BV last week. Yes, there was a sharp stinging pain during sex, and even after it. Once I finished my 7-day prescription from my gynecologist, the pain and the weird discharge disappeared completely.

I completely understand how scary it feels when intimacy suddenly becomes painful. I panicked thinking it was something permanent, but it was just BV. Once the infection is cleared, the pain goes away completely, so please don't worry.

The inflammation makes the skin inside very sensitive, so sex can be quite painful. My advice is to wash only with warm water, avoid any chemical washes, and see a doctor for the proper antibiotics. Don't try home remedies for this.

My wife had BV and honestly, with our baby keeping us awake all night, sex was already rare, but the pain made it a complete no-go! It causes a very uncomfortable burning. Get the doctor's cream, it works fast.

Yes sweetie, it is super common to feel burning or pain during sex when you have BV. Don't stress too much about it, just tell your partner you need a little break, get your prescription from the gynac, and you will be absolutely fine!
