Does buspirone help you sleep?

I've been really struggling with insomnia lately, and it's affecting my daily life. A friend of mine mentioned that Buspirone, which she takes for anxiety, also helps her sleep better. Does Buspirone actually help you sleep, or is it more for daytime anxiety?

My doctor clearly explained that buspirone is not a sleeping aid or sedative like benzodiazepines. However, because it works on serotonin receptors to reduce generalized anxiety, it helped me sleep better by quietening my active mind at night.

Actually, my doctor suggested this for my worry habits, but insomnia is my main issue. Does it take a long time to start helping with sleep, or did you guys see results in the first few days itself?

It didn't make me sleepy directly, but calming my anxiety made my recovery and rest much better. I combined the medication with reducing caffeine after 4 PM and doing regular cardio. This combo worked wonders for my sleep quality.

It doesn't work like a sleeping pill, period. It just takes the edge off your anxiety. I took it for three months and my sleep tracker showed slightly better resting heart rates, but it won't force you to sleep if you have chronic insomnia.

I used this medicine some years ago during a very stressful phase of my life. It slowly brought back my normal sleep pattern because my mind became much quieter. Have patience, these medicines take some weeks to show their true benefit.

Haan, indirect help toh milti hai. When your brain is not constantly running at 100 km/h, you can actually fall asleep peacefully, na. But don't expect it to make you feel drowsy immediately like other strong sleeping pills.

My elder sister was taking this and she slept much better after a month. Our mother used to give her warm turmeric milk at night along with it. But please remember to take it exactly at the time your doctor has scheduled for you.
