Does buspar help you sleep?

I've been having trouble sleeping lately, and my mind keeps racing at night. Someone suggested that Buspar might help with anxiety and also improve sleep quality. Does Buspar actually help you sleep better, or is it mainly for anxiety?

Honestly, please do not go by what people say on online forums for such heavy medicines. My cousin tried taking some pills his friend suggested for sleep and it ruined his stomach. Better to call your doctor and ask if this is even safe for you.

I was taking this till last month for my severe panic issues. It did not directly make me sleepy, but because my racing thoughts stopped at night, I was able to sleep peacefuly. It takes around 2-3 weeks to start working though, so have some patience.

Yaar, for me it did nothing for sleep directly, but it definitely cut down my late-night overthinking. At first I felt a bit dizzy after taking it, but that went away in a few days. Ask your doctor once before you decide anything.

Look, Buspar is actually an anxiety med, not a sleeping pill. When my anxiety went down, my sleep cycle naturally got better, but don't expect it to knock you out like a typical sedative. It takes some weeks to even show any proper effect.

I can only tell you what happened with me when I was on it. It actually made me feel a bit restless in the first week rather than sleepy. I had to discuss this with my psychiatrist and we adjusted the timings to morning instead of night.

I tracked my sleep cycles on my smartwatch while taking this and didn't see any major change in my deep sleep hours. It just made me calm enough to get into bed on time. If you want better sleep, try setting a strict screen time limit alongside your prescription.
