Does breastfeeding reduce risk of breast cancer?

My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer a few years ago, and I'm really trying to adopt a healthy lifestyle to reduce my own risk. I breastfed both my kids. Does breastfeeding reduce the risk of breast cancer in women?

Haan beti, hamare yahan hamesha kehte hain ki bacche ko apna doodh pilane se maa ka shareer swasth rehta hai aur cancer jaisi bhayanak bimariyon se bacha rehta hai. Yeh sach hai.

Yes, it reduces the risk. My gynecologist explained that the differentiation of breast cells during lactation makes them less susceptible to malignant transformations, plus it lowers lifetime estrogen exposure. It is highly recommended.

Absolutely. It is a well-established medical fact that breastfeeding for at least 12 months in total significantly drops a mother's breast cancer risk. It's a beautiful gift from nature for both baby and mother.

Yes, it really does help! I read that the cell shedding during lactation helps clear out potential damaged cells. It's a great practical benefit of nursing your little one.

It does reduce the risk, but please do not take it as a guarantee. I ignored a small lump years ago thinking I was safe because I had breastfed, and it turned out to be a serious issue. Always get any changes checked immediately.

I totally get it, we worry so much about long-term health risks after having a baby. It is comforting to know that breastfeeding actually helps protect us by reducing cancer risks. Take it one day at a time.
