Does breastfeeding reduce breast cancer?

My doctor mentioned that breastfeeding can offer protection against certain diseases for mothers. I'm particularly concerned about breast cancer. Does breastfeeding reduce breast cancer risk for women?

Yes, it does. When my wife was breastfeeding our daughter, her doctor told us that every year of breastfeeding reduces the relative risk of breast cancer by around 4%. It is highly beneficial for the mother's long-term health.

I can only share what my family doctor told me during my delivery. She said breastfeeding is a natural shield against breast tumors. I fed my baby for 18 months keeping that in mind.

Haan na, bilkul kam karta hai risk. Doctor ne bola tha ki feeding se breast tissue develop hota hai aur cells stable rehte hain. Toh humein feed toh zaroor karna chahiye.

Yes, health data shows a strong correlation between breastfeeding and a lower incidence of breast cancer. The shedding of old breast cells during lactation plays a big role. It is a great natural protective mechanism.

Yes, it reduces the risk, it is proven. Lactation lowers estrogen levels in the body, which is a major factor. But don't skip regular medical screenings thinking you are completely immune.
