Does breastfeeding decrease risk of breast cancer?

My doctor encouraged me to breastfeed for as long as possible, mentioning it had health benefits for me too. I remember her saying something about cancer. Does breastfeeding decrease the risk of breast cancer?

While I am busy thinking about my next biryani, my doctor cousin was actually telling me that breastfeeding for a year or more really reduces breast cancer risks. It has something to do with delaying ovulation and changing breast cells. Pretty cool science honestly!

Ha behan, hamare yahan sab bade kehte hain ki bacche ko doodh pilane se maa ka shareer andar se saaf aur tandurust rehta hai. Yeh sach mein bimariyon se bachata hai.

I can only speak from my own experience. My gynecologist strongly encouraged me to breastfeed both my kids for at least a year, saying it lowers breast cancer risks. I felt good knowing I was doing something positive for my long-term health.

Yes, it does. In our families, we always encourage long-term breastfeeding because it is both healthy for the baby and acts as a natural protective shield for the mother's health. It is a free, natural way to lower health risks.

Yes, many medical studies show that the longer you breastfeed, the more your risk of breast cancer decreases. The continuous hormonal changes during lactation help in maturing breast cells, making them more resistant. It is a wonderful natural benefit.
