Does blood pressure rise during a heart attack?

My uncle recently had a heart attack, and we were talking about the symptoms. Someone mentioned that blood pressure can shoot up during an attack. Is this true, or does it vary?

My BP fluctuates a lot due to my thyroid fluctuations, but heart issues are very different. You must get regular ECGs and blood work done if you have chronic health issues. Always consult your cardiologist for any chest discomfort.

BP can actually go either up or down during a heart attack depending on how the body reacts to pain and stress. If someone is having severe chest pain, sweating, or breathlessness, please don't wait to check BP at home. Shift them to an emergency room immediately.

Yes, it can fluctuate wildly due to anxiety and pain. Always rush to the hospital if there is chest pain.

My father went through this and his BP shot up drastically because of the sheer pain and panic. It was very scary. Please don't waste time looking for answers online if someone is unwell right now; just head to a hospital.

It can definitely shoot up due to the adrenaline rush! But sometimes it even drops if the heart muscle is struggling. Keep emergency numbers handy and stay safe. 👍
