Does blistex work on fever blisters?

I get fever blisters quite often, and they can be really irritating. I've heard about Blistex, and I was wondering if it's effective in treating fever blisters.

Honestly, having a fever blister is the worst because I can't enjoy my spicy street food! Blistex helps soothe the burning so I can at least eat comfortably.

Blistex is just a moisturizer, it won't cure a viral blister. You need an actual antiviral cream like acyclovir to make it go away fast.

While medicated lip balms like Blistex offer temporary cooling relief, they don't treat the underlying virus. Consulting a doctor for prescription medication is highly recommended.

My grandmother always suggests applying coconut oil or turmeric paste to soothe it. However, for quick healing, using a doctor's prescribed ointment works best.

I just got my first fever blister and it hurts a lot. Does Blistex make it heal faster or does it only stop the dry pain?

Blistex is great for dry lips, but for real fever blisters, you need a specialized medicated gel! It definitely helps stop the itching though. 👍

I get these blisters every winter when my immunity drops. Blistex helps keep the area moist so it doesn't bleed when you smile, but you still need patience.

When I had a bad blister, I used a cold compress first, then applied a tiny bit of Blistex to stop it from cracking. It worked for my comfort, but everyone is different.

Keep your immune system strong with good zinc and vitamin C foods when you have blisters. Balms like Blistex just prevent dry cracking of the lips.

Don't trust random cosmetic products to cure clinical skin lesions. Fever blisters are contagious, so get a proper prescription rather than experimenting with OTC lip balms.

Blistex is ok for basic dryness, yaar. But actually, if it's a real fever blister, you should get a small tube of Zovirax from the chemist, it works much faster.

I was looking this up because my friend gets them often. It seems Blistex medicated ointment has camphor which numbs the pain, but won't kill the herpes virus.
