Does beetroot cleanse the liver?

Reading a lot about liver detox lately, I noticed some articles mention beetroot. Does having beetroot regularly actually help cleanse the liver, or is it just a myth? Trying to lead a healthier life.

I used to panic about 'detoxing' my liver and drank beetroot juice daily, but then my doctor explained that the liver cleanses itself naturally. Beetroot is just a healthy vegetable with antioxidants that supports general health, so don't stress about fancy liver cleanses. Just eat balanced meals.

There is no scientific concept of a 'food cleanse' for organs. Beetroot contains antioxidants like betalains which are good for liver health, but it cannot cure or detox a liver on its own. If you are concerned about liver health, consulting a hepatologist and getting an LFT done is the best course of action.

I had fatty liver grade 2, and let me tell you, no amount of beetroot juice cured it. What actually worked was cutting out alcohol, reducing oily food, and losing weight through daily exercise as my doctor advised. Eat beets as part of a healthy diet, but don't treat them as a cure.

Please don't rely on home remedies like beetroot to fix liver issues. I ignored my persistent fatigue and loss of appetite, thinking a beetroot juice cleanse would fix my liver. By the time I went to the doctor, my condition had worsened significantly. Please get a proper liver function test done.

If you suspect any liver issues, please get a professional opinion instead of trying self-treatment. Beetroot is a healthy vegetable, but it cannot replace medical care. It is always safest to get your liver enzymes checked by a doctor to know the actual status of your health.

While beetroot is highly nutritious, we must be careful with the idea of 'cleansing.' Especially with hormonal issues like PCOS, drinking too much strained beet juice can spike insulin. It's much better to eat whole beets in moderation and discuss liver health with your doctor.
