Does beer help with kidney stones?

My friend told me that beer can actually be helpful for kidney stones, like it flushes them out. Is this true or just a popular belief? I'm prone to them so I'm always looking for ways to prevent or manage them.

When my teenage son had a small stone, so many relatives told us to give him beer, but we refused completely. It's not safe or healthy for kids or even young adults to use alcohol as medicine. We just gave him lots of water and fresh coconut water, and the stone passed safely under our pediatrician's guidance.

While beer acts as a diuretic, the risks of dehydration and increased uric acid outweigh any temporary benefit. It is always wiser to consult an expert rather than self-medicate with alcohol. A simple ultrasound can tell you the exact size, and your doctor can guide you properly.

Beta, please don't fall for these WhatsApp forwards about beer and kidney stones. I have seen many people in my circle try this and end up in the emergency room with severe stomach pain. Stick to clean drinking water, barley water, and follow what your doctor says.

I have had three kidney stones in the last ten years, so trust me on this. Beer is not the solution because the dehydration it causes later makes the pain much worse. Drink at least 3-4 liters of water daily, limit your salt, and take the pain relief medicines your urologist prescribes.

Keep your mind calm and stay positive, dear friend. Healing begins when we treat our bodies with gentle care, and putting alcohol like beer inside might disrupt your system. Trust the doctors, drink clean water, and let your body heal naturally.

I always believe in safety first. Kidney pain can sometimes be mistaken for other issues, or a large stone can block your urinary tract, which is a medical emergency. Please don't experiment with beer at home; go to a clinic and get it checked by a professional.

Oh god, even I was thinking of trying this because the pain is just unbearable sometimes. Did anyone else feel really nauseous and dizzy when they had kidney stones? I am too scared to try beer, please tell me if normal medicines are enough to stop the pain.

Let's be real, beer is just an excuse people use to drink. There is absolutely no medical evidence backing this up. Just go see a proper doctor, get your scan done, and drink normal water to flush it out.

I can't give you any medical advice, but I tried the beer trick once when I had a 5mm stone. Honestly, it didn't help at all and just gave me a bad headache and acidity along with the stone pain. In the end, the doctor's prescribed tablets and lots of water were what actually worked for me.

Don't panic, okay? Kidney stones are painful but very treatable. Just avoid the beer myth because alcohol will only irritate your stomach and cause dehydration. Just focus on drinking warm water, rest well, and make an appointment with a doctor tomorrow morning.

Having thyroid issues has taught me that we shouldn't mess with our body's chemical balance. Drinking beer might affect your calcium and uric acid levels, making stone formation even worse. Please get your kidney function tests and calcium levels checked properly by a doctor.

I was actually reading up on this yesterday because my uncle has stones. Most medical websites say beer doesn't help because it contains purines, which can actually form more uric acid stones. It is better to stick to lemon water and coconut water instead.
