Does beer have sugar in it for diabetics?

My husband is diabetic and asks me about what he can and cannot have. He enjoys a light beer sometimes. Does beer actually have sugar in it that would affect his blood sugar levels? I want to give him correct info.

Yes, beer has a significant amount of carbohydrates that convert directly into sugar in your system. If you are managing diabetes, those extra carbs can easily disrupt your insulin levels. Regular exercise and a clean diet are much better for keeping things balanced.

It is so scary because beer has carbs that spike your sugar, and then the alcohol can make it drop dangerously low hours later. I always get so anxious about these fluctuations. Please get your HbA1c checked and talk to your doctor about this.

Haan babuji, beer mein jo anaj aur meetha hota hai, woh khoon mein chini badha deta hai. Humare yahan toh doctor sahab mana hi karte hain isse. Aap apna dhyan rakhein aur bade doctor se zaroor salah lein.

Yes, beer does contain carbs that act as sugar in your bloodstream. As a medical professional, I always advise diabetic patients that alcohol can mask signs of low blood sugar, which is very risky. It is much safer to discuss this openly with your doctor.

When I accompanied my father to his endocrinologist at Apollo, the doctor explained that even regular beer contains sugars that can complicate diabetes management. It is best to consult your own physician to get clear guidance tailored to your health.

Don't go by what people online say about 'safe' alcoholic drinks for diabetics. Beer has fermentable sugars and carbs that absolutely affect your blood glucose. Get a clear medical opinion from your doctor based on your personal health reports.
